PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Under the direction of the Agronomy Department Manager, supports seed sales of all system supported brands and precision ag. sales across the company with the Crop Specialist team (including Climate FieldView, Veris Technologies, etc). Strives to exceed annual budgeted sales growth and department goals. Provides leadership, coaching and development to Crop Specialists, supporting performance expectations for the Agronomy Department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for supporting the crop specialist team with the following: seed sales; including all system supported seed brands, seed treatments, precision agronomy products; including Climate FieldView, Veris Technologies, Evergreen FS Scouting Program and other tools and products that are brought forward in the future.
Builds a targeted customer and prospect list with the crop specialist to determine the best sales strategy for each account.
Help identify new targets and obtain positive net gains in business, invoiced, acres gained and data collected.
Works with supported seed and technology professionals to coordinate the efforts of the company to grow market share and improve profitability within the company.
Be the champion for seed and technology in targeted geography, by using data sets that drive the agronomy department goals and business.
Support and build confidence in crop specialists and customers in the importance of seed and technologies.
Know and understand competitive products within our geography along with in the industry.
Build positive relationships with the crop specialist team and seed/technology representatives.
Work closely with Agronomy Technology Manager to identify needs at each location to continue to keep Evergreen FS as a market leader.
Work with the Seed Marketing Lead on tracking inventory.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Normally requires an Associates’ Degree in agriculture, marketing or business related discipline or the equivalent thereof, and 3-4 years or more of business related work experience and/or training or equivalent to demonstrate the ability to generate sales in an assigned territory.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Daily independent travel within the trade area with occasional overnight stays.
Ability to work extended hours as business conditions warrant.
Normally requires the ability to obtain the Certified Crop Advisor (CCA)
Occasionally exposed or required to:
- Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
- Noisy Conditions
- Lift 51-75 Ibs.
