Langan has an opening for a Geotechnical Engineer – Entry to 3 Years Experience at our Canonsburg, PA office. As the successful candidate, you will be working on both small-scale and large-scale projects primarily in the civil, oil & gas, and utility markets. You will perform inspection and documentation in the field overseeing a variety of different investigation and construction techniques, and will perform various calculations and develop design recommendations for foundations, embankments, retaining walls, and other geotechnical aspects of construction. You will also assist with the preparation of technical reports and specifications, as well as, construction plans and details. Candidate must be able to perform field inspections of geotechnical and foundation projects. Possession of a strong technical education, professional demeanor, and desire to learn is essential to this position.
•B.S. in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical specialty (M.S. preferred);
•FE/EIT certification preferred;
•Entry to 3 years of related geotechnical experience. For entry level candidates, related internship experience is desired;
•Field experience with construction monitoring is preferred;
•Willingness and availability to travel and work at other locations required;
•Excellent communication skills, written and verbal;
•Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
•Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;
•Must be willing to spend 75 percent of the day working in the field;
•Possess reliable transportation to access job sites and a valid driver’s license in good standing; and,
•Availability to work overtime.
