About The Clarion-Ledger
The Clarion-Ledger, Mississippi’s largest newspaper, was founded in 1837 as the Eastern Clarion in Paulding in Jasper County. In 1863, it became the Daily Clarion and moved to Meridian. In 1865, the paper moved to Jackson and the paper’s named changed again to the State-Ledger. The newspaper became The Clarion-Ledger on Jan. 16, 1888. The paper has been published continuously since 1890; in 1930, it went from a six-day paper to publishing seven days a week. It is also available at www.clarionledger.com and on mobile devices.
