Summary
The Advertising Analyst II is responsible for accurately assembling all advertising data for all reporting, provide POV on data and data sources, assist in the formulation of advertising recommendations based on data, assist in the gathering and preparation of digital data from various sources. Work with the corporate business warehouse, SAP reporting, coupon reporting, promotional planning tool and other internal sources to provide accurate and timely top to bottom forecasts, reporting and analyses about our advertising program and promotional elements.

Scope
  • Pull from multiple sources all available advertising data to conduct pre and post promotional weekly, monthly, quarterly and event-based analysis including data needed for business case analyses, risk assessments and promotional results analyses including market basket, ad page / block productivity, space allocation optimization and coupon results. Partner with the Advertising team to interpret promotional reporting data.
  • Pull all available advertising data to provide pre event forecasts and post event results reporting for the promotional (coupon) offers as well as product offers. Report on impact of advertising tactics for all communication channels. Integrate consumer insights via competitive activity where appropriate.
  • Service the Advertising team with timely analysis and recommendations in developing the optimal promotional calendar. Provide what if scenarios quarterly and ad hoc as needed. Support all testing scenarios by providing forecast, monitoring and results reporting on all testing activities.
  • Partner with Marketing and/or other Jo-Ann departments on an ad hoc basis to conduct advertising specific analyses intended to support an advertising strategy, project or tactic. Provide all corporate level analyses on purchasing segments and market baskets.

Education Requirements
  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Math, Economics, Marketing.
Experience
  • Minimum: 3-5 years or more marketing analytics experience, preferably in a retail environment, and 3-5 years of experience in reporting, analytics, business intelligence.
Other Skills.
  • MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). SAP experience helpful. Programming knowledge and querying ability with exposure to large data sets. Knowledge of interactive technologies including web analytics helpful.
