comScore is hiring great software engineers for our AdEffx (Advertising Effectiveness) team.  You will design and build high-scale applications that process very large datasets.  This is a fast-paced, agile environment, where we iterate quickly and work with bleeding edge technology.

 

Title:            Software Engineer
Location:     Reston, VA
Reports to:   Vice President, Research

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate between cross-functional teams to develop new solutions, groom stories, and provide estimates
  • Extend and improve the architecture of existing systems
  • Design and implement new solutions from the ground up
  • Integrate with third party vendors
  • Come up to speed quickly on core processing systems
  • Quickly answer questions about how the systems work
  • Quickly evaluate proposed designs for technical feasibility
  • Quickly detect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix system issues
  • Provide support off hours
  • Be proactive in seeking projects and responsibilities

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS or higher degree in Computer Science
  • 4+ years of work experience
  • Solid understanding of algorithms, design patterns, data structures, and object-oriented design
  • .NET, C#, ASP.NET, LINQ, Telerik, Entity Framework
  • SQL Server
  • SVN or Git
  • Experience with high volume ETL and data processing
  • Experience with Hadoop is a plus
  • Experience with Agile software development is a plus
  • Knowledge of the Digital Advertising space is a plus
  • Ability to thoroughly and effectively unit test
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where things change rapidly
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly
  • Ability to learn new business processes quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and balance workload according to priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Must be a self-starter with personal motivation, and a team player
  • Provide statement of citizenship or visa status that allows you to work for any employer in US
