The Risk Management team is responsible for the corporate insurance program at Minto Holdings and Associated companies, as well as the personal insurance needs of the shareholders. We assess risks pertaining to the Company's assets as well as its directors, officers and employees and we develop strategies for managing these risks. For risk transfer solutions, we work with brokers and insurers to secure policy terms reflective of a top tier risk.
We interact with all divisions throughout Canada and in the United States by providing expertise in coverage initiation and negotiation, claims management, lease and contract reviews and other insurance related functions.
The Analyst, Risk Management assists in the procurement of insurance policies and risk management functions; claims management, loss prevention, insurance certificate management. Accountabilities include significant involvement in the insurance premium allocation, insurance program renewals.
What you’ll be responsible for day to day:
•Primary responsibility to maintain the reliability and performance of the Claims Management System and maintain working relationship with the external service provider to ensure effective communication to ensure appropriate training and software updates;
•Prepare quarterly loss report, Ad-Hoc report for trends and frequency analysis;
•Process and manage claims including but not limited to data entry, file maintenance;
•Report claim to insurer and maintain the relationship with the file examiner throughout the life of the file;
•Process and manage recovery claims against at fault parties;
•Prepare cheque requisition for claim settlement payment and follow-up on outstanding accounts;
•Maintain a register for binders, insurance policies, premium invoice processing, certificates holders;
•Maintain underwritings data for various line of coverage including but not limited to; blanket Builders risk, All Risk Property, Automobile;
•Assist with policies renewal including documentation preparation, underwriting submissions and related reports (i.e. premium adjustment reports);
•Monitoring of various construction policies and requesting extensions;
•Act as a back up to the Senior Analyst, Risk Management, as required;
•Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance markets, current developments and trends in the field of insurance and risk management through industry publications, surveys and participation in professional associations and organizations.
Additional Complimentary Risk Management Responsibilities:
•Coordinate department meeting, maintain meetings schedules;
•Assist in department’s presentations, training Webinar/ seminars to business unit and stakeholders;
•Assist and support Director Management in PowerPoint presentations;
•Coordinate and maintain department records, including on and off site records;
Who we’re looking for:
•At least 3 years experience relating to technical aspects of Corporate risk management, insurance and claims
•Completed or working towards a C.R.M. and/or C.I.P. designation
•Working knowledge of laws, regulations, business law, third party liability
•Solid relationship management, customer service and communication skills
•Adept at multi-tasking due to effective time management and organizational skills
•Ability to work as cross-functional team member as well as work independently
•Excellent analytic skills with strong attention to detail
•Excel, PowerPoint, Word
•Working knowledge of SAP considered an asset
•Bilingualism is considered an asset
•Prior insurance administration experience or prior experience and basic understanding of commercial and/or multi-residential real estate transactions
